Description
Kinnauri
Apricot (Khumani)
Origin & Terroir
Grown in Kinnaur district, Himachal Pradesh, in high‑altitude orchards (roughly 1,800–3,000 m).
Cool nights and sunny days create slow, even ripening, concentrating sugars and aromatics.
Traditional, low‑input horticulture and hand-harvesting are common across small family farms.
Appearance & Texture
Naturally sun‑dried, typically unsulphured: deep amber to brown color (rather than bright orange). Halved or whole-dried styles; chewy yet tender, with a pleasant, dense bite. Occasional slight bloom (natural fruit sugars) may appear on the surface.
Flavor Profile
Honeyed sweetness balanced with lively, apricot tang.
Notes of dried flowers, tea, and a gentle almond-like nuance.
Clean finish with lingering fruitiness.
